Highly regarded as the most premier cigars in the world; Cuban cigars are now a part of Cohiba’s new line of high-end cigars.

Recently unveiled at the unique Cigar Festival in Cuba, the Cohiba Behike is reportedly the finest cigar ever produced. Set to go on sale in June, the Behike will not be available in the United States, due to the current economic trade embargo with Cuba. However, the United Kingdom will sell Behike – ranging on size – for £25 ($36), £33 ($48) and £39 ($57).

Propelled by the rarity of the item, each cigar is hand rolled with medio tiempo – a rare part of the tobacco plant taken from the upper leaves (which not every plant produces). This rare leaf sparks the Behike, enticing patrons of the Havana Festival with the cigar’s rich, savory taste.

Creating a worldwide buzz within a week, Cohiba’s expectations are so high that experts are sure, that the demand will exceed the supply.

After nearly 60 years since its creation, an exclusive box of 1950s Romeo y Julieta Piramides Cuban cigars will be available for purchase on June 21^st. C. Gars Ltd’s second vintage cigar auction – hosted by the Boisdale Belgravia in London – will feature, amongst other, this rarity cherished by the legendary Winston Churchill.

As a result of an iconic image displaying Mr. Churchill giving the two-victory sign with a cigar in his mouth, the Romeo y Julieta Piramides cigars became a part of his pugnacious aura. After nearly 60 years of preservation, the cigars are expected to receive, “significant bids from both sides of the Atlantic from aficionados who’d love to taste Churchill’s favorite cigar”, said C. Gars Managing Director Mitchell Orchant.

C. Gars Ltd. – highly regarded as the leader of cigars – held their first auction in December 2009, with resounding success. Although there has not been a price estimation release for the Romeo y Julieta Piramides, the noteworthy prices from the December auction ranged from £1450 to £16,000.

On May 14^th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Club Macanudo will host the unveiling of La Gloria Cubana’s revolutionary release: Artesanos de Tabaqueros.

Michael Giannini and Rick Rodriguez – the artists behind the one of kind cigar – created the Artesanos de Tabaqueros with a rich blend from two separate wrappers. The distinct wrappers, from two different countries, create a wonderful balance when each wrapper meets in the middle.

“To truly experience this gem of a cigar is to smoke it and taste the masterful artisanship that comes to life when one wrapper ends and the other begins in harmony”, said Co-Creator Michael Giannini.

Although La Gloria Cubana has yet to release a price, they have announced that the Artsesanos de Tabaqueros will be available in three different sizes – 650, 650B(Torpedo Shaped), and 750.

Pinar del Rio, which was started in 2008 by Abraham Flores and Juan Rodriguez to pay tribute to the west coast region of Cuba famous for rich tobacco culture and production, has just released a limited edition run of Culebra cigars. The cigars will retail at $120 per box with five sets in each box.

Culebra, which means “snake” in Spanish, is a highly specialized cigar comprised of three long Panatelas braided together when the tobacco is still moist and then fastened with a string at either end. To smoke a Culebra, one would untie the stings, pry each stick apart and share with friends or store remaining sticks in a humidor. Culebras can be smoked intact; however, they are most commonly dissembled before enjoyed.

Although they have been in creation since the 1800’s, Culebras remain very rare because their creation requires such an extremely skilled worker. This is the first time that Pinar del Rio will be releasing cigars of this sort.

Pinar del Rio has released this run of Culebras in four different blends: Clasico, Sungrown, Oscuro and Selecion. However, each is expected to vanish from the market quickly due to the rarity and limited rolls being produced.

The exclusivity of each cigar is that they are “manufactured in small quantities, by expert Cuban factory cigar rollers to meet the expectations of the most demanding smokers.” Since their inception in 2000, Habanos SA regular Edición Limitada products have featured such brands as Cohiba, Montecristo, Romeo y Julieta, Partagas, Hoyo de Monterrey and H. Upmann.

Measuring at a thick 52 mm and 150mm in length, the Montecristo Grand Edmundo commands all the traditional flavors of the Montecristo brand. Aside from the Cohiba brand, this marks the first time that Habanos SA has manufactured the Cañonazo size.

Perhaps garnering the most anticipation, the The Partagás Serie D Especial presents a smooth, full flavor. The Serie D Especial measures 50mm in girth and 141mm in length.

Shorter in presentation than the others, Trinidad Short Robustos T is by far the most limited out all the Habanos brands. Rich in Trinidad’s boastful characteristics, the Short Robustos T measures at 50mm in girth and short 102mm in length.

Each one of Habanos Edición Limitada three releases have been expertly crafted with the finest Cuband two-year aged tobacco leaves from the region of Vuelta Abajo.
